FC Bayern München celebrates the 25th championship with legendary Paulaner Weißbier showers

On May 23rd 2015, the stars of FC Bayern Munich celebrated happily and hilariously winning its 25th German Championship. After the ceremonial handover of the championship shield to captain Philipp Lahm, the old and new German champions let their joy about the successful season run wild. Charming Paulas served 3-liter glasses filled with Paulaner Hefe-Weißbier Non-alcoholic for the traditional Weißbier showers. The stars toasted to themselves and the fans and took deep gulps on an undisputed title win.

The fans touched glasses on their team with about 10.000 litres of free beer. Because at the last home game of the season, Paulaner held their promise of free beer and donated 100 litres of freshly poured Paulaner for every goal scored in the Bundesliga. A team of Paulas gave out vouchers for the beer and even served some fans in their seats. Just as last year, coach Pep Guardiola was the victim of Jérôme Boateng being showered by the Weißbier. Together with David Alaba, the world championship winner took advantage of the situation and showered the coach of FCB. Pep Guardiola took it with humor: „This is a great tradition. It was fun“, he said later.

Also Bastian Schweinsteiger couldn’t escape the showers after his 500th Bundesliga match: Robert Lewandoski acted as if he was drinking – and poured a full glas of Weißbier over the head of the vice-captain of FCB. Xabi Alonso and Pepe Reina treated themselves their own first Weißbier soaking after winnig the German Championship. On 24th May, the celebrations continued at the triumph ride to Munich Town Hall and Marienplatz. About 20.000 enthusiastic fans of Bayern München celebrated there with the champions.
